Job Description

Our client, a full service commercial construction firm based out of Lancaster PA, has a direct hire opening for a Project Manager with commercial construction industry experience. This role is the liaison between the company and its customers and suppliers. It requires excellent communication, organizational, and personnel management skills, as well as knowledge of construction and contractual obligations.


* Responsible for planning, organizing, staffing and directing/controlling multiple construction projects on time, within budget and with all compliance measures met according to annual production goals (manage time and resources)

* Provide leadership and motivation to each project team communicating effectively both verbally and in writing (management, field superintendents, subcontractors)

* Maintain positive relationships with internal and external contacts

* Solve project problems effectively as they arise

* Maintain complete and accurate documentation

* Plan project start up and close out, preparing all change orders

* Assist with sales and project estimating and job costing

* Maintain accurate project scheduling (using MS Project)

* Control Resources: labor, material, tools and equipment for each job

* Enforce Quality and Safety Control - in coordination with Field Superintendents for all job sites

* Participate in staff meetings with status reports on all projects


* Bachelor's degree preferred with minimum of 5+ years' experience in general commercial construction project management required

* Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills; organized, detail oriented, motivated and self-driven

* Able to manage multiple projects up to $20MM year

* Ability to travel / locally and regionally (overnight)

* Strong computer skills: Microsoft Word and Excel +scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Timberline or Primavera)
