Job Description

Catering Event Production Supervisor

The Opportunity:

The Catering Event Production Supervisor (CEPS) works with the event sales team to ensure all full-service catering, from proposal to completion of the event, is designed, processed and fulfilled with the highest standard of service to our guests. The CEPS own the success of the pre-production and onsite execution of all full-service events; their primary responsibilities include interfacing with each catering team to produce supporting documentation, menu and equipment pack-out needs, placement of orders with third-party vendors, and managing on-call staffing (approximately 15-30 contractors). They work on-site events ensuring guest satisfaction, providing coaching and training to on-call staff, and providing feedback to the Director of Catering Services and the catering team on best practices and how to improve and streamline processes.


1. Service - At least two years experience as an Event Coordinator, for large catering events.

2. Leadership - Able to lead and collaborate across several teams - Front of House, Back of House, Catering Sales and Operations. Ensures success across all points of the business.

3. Quality - Delivers a high-quality event including design, production, staffing, and menu served.

4. Operational - Plans and manages workflow and staffing. Is organized and manages details well. Anticipates and adjusts to any business fluctuations as needed.

5. Financial - Fully responsible for reaching sales goals and client satisfaction, through repeat business.

6. Compliance - Maintains a safe work environment for our staff and ensures compliance with all local and state laws.

Your Required Expertise:

1. Communicates Effectively - Is effective in a variety of communication settings: one-on-one, small and large groups.

2. Action Oriented - Takes on new tasks /assignments with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

3. Optimizes Work Processes - Knows or strives to provide the most effective and efficient processes to get work done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

4. Attention to Detail - Has a knack for meticulous attention to detail. Ability to parse pertinent details from complex sets of information. Ability to force rank frequently changing priorities, sometimes on an hourly basis.

5. 2+ years experience coordinating a large volume of catering events.

6. Able to work Weekends and Weekdays, Nights and Early Mornings.

7. California Food Handler's Card required

8. Valid Driver's License and Safe Driving Record - ability to drive to and from events.

9. 1-2 years related experience

10. Bachelor's Degree preferred

11. English language skills (written and oral) required; professional communication skills required.
