Job Description

Right of Way Clerk



Pursuing candidates with a land survey, right of way, real estate, or title work background.



Essential Functions



* Manage easement acquisition process for company gas and electric distribution facilities.

* Coordinate with company designers to assure that accurate field measurements are taken so that accurate legal descriptions are put on the easement documents for recording in county records.

* Determines if field survey is necessary to accurately describe the easement.

* Negotiate and obtain signature for easement.

* Works with title companies to establish correct ownership interests on the properties we wish to occupy with facilities.

* Assist with customer communication for company projects. Assist Real Estate Department on miscellaneous projects.

* Uses appropriate interpersonal skills and communication methods to build constructive relationships with customers, business units, service organizations and other stakeholders to meet shared goals and objectives.

* Demonstrates cooperation and collaboration while participating in a group or team.

* Makes effective decisions and achieves desired results in the midst of changes in responsibilities, work processes, time frames, performance expectations, organizational culture or work environment. Actively supports and promotes corporate and/or business unit changes.

Requirements



* Interpreting legal descriptions, surveys, maps, legal documents, contracts and other documents.

* Drafting legal descriptions and creating conveyance documents.

* Determining ownership of property working with Title Company or database and online systems.

* Familiarity with office procedures and basic computer software systems.

* Easement or other ROW acquisition experience.
