Job Description


Manpower is currently seeking to hire a Planner/Scheduler to fulfill a 6 month contract position for our client, a Major Pipeline Company, in Fort Nelson, BC.

Summary of Key Responsibilities include (job functions include but are not limited to):

* Perform on-site work scoping and estimating for routine and non-routine maintenance activities

* Develop and revise Work Packages for routine and non-routine maintenance activities to ensure work is performed safely and cost effectively

* Develop and revise Long Range Work Plans, Performing Work Lists, Planning Priority Lists and Work Schedules to ensure work is properly planned and ready to execute

* Validate and confirm the accuracy of equipment data within SAP (e.g. bill of materials, maintenance strategy plans, equipment specifications etc.)

* Create standard task lists for repetitive equipment maintenance activities

* Liaise with Operations, Maintenance and Ops Engineering to develop and review planning documents

* Provide expertise in the areas of planning, scheduling, inventory, procurement and SAP to all stakeholders

* Analyze, recommend and assist in implementing improvements to facility performance and equipment maintenance strategies

* Generate various facility and maintenance reports (e.g. backlog, delinquent PM's, schedule compliance, manpower availability, planning accuracy)

* Assist in turnaround planning and scheduling as required

Qualifications and Requirements:

* Technical diploma or Trades certificate, or Engineering degree; other combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered

* Ideally 7 years' experience working in an industrial environment or 3 years' experience working as a Technical Planner or Scheduler

* Minimum of 4 - 5 years' experience working in an industrial environment; or 2 years' experience working as a Planner or Scheduler

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

* Good analytical and decision making skills

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills

* Strong organizational and time management skills

* Valid driver's license

* Training and competency in: job scoping and estimating; maintenance planning and scheduling; SAP PM Notification and Work Order; Planning and Scheduling

* Sound maintenance planning, scheduling and procurement philosophies

* Training in: data analysis management, root cause failure analysis, maintenance reliability, advanced shutdown management, and turnaround planning

* Must be comfortable with travelling to work sites as required
