Job Description

Function Summary

To adequately perform all duties associated with packaging product in a concise, safe, and accurate manner, at a rate consistent with the established line standards. This includes individual packaging and case packaging.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities


1. Check schedule for product being produced and line for which you are responsible.

2. Understand and follow all packing guidelines, and the rotating and relief procedures as outlined in the procedure manuals.

3. Efficiently package individual cookies into the proper tray.

4. Manually create the proper boxes for case packing.

5. Efficiently hand pack cases according to established case packing configurations.

6. Recognize product quality issues and notify your Team Leader ASAP of any abnormalities. Sort out and discard substandard product.

7. Maintain established standards while insuring product uniformity when base cake feeding or packing.

8. Assist with changeovers in an efficient manner according to the production schedule.

9. Understand and comply with the allergen policy.

10. Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy.

11. Understand the scrap and regrind procedures and assist in the removal of line waste.

12. Relieve team members as needed.

13. Follow and promote all safety policies.

14. Assist with the training of team members.

15. Maintain a clean work area and execute any duties assigned on the housekeeping check off sheets.

16. When performing takeoff, check and monitor code dates on packages, seals, product, and cello quality, and insure that corresponding labels are correctly positioned on the packages.

17. Properly fill out and initial all production documents associated with your area of responsibility.

18. Notify maintenance and or your Team Leader of any repairs or adjustments that are required.

19. Perform all duties necessary to meet Safe Quality Food (SQF), Company, and or Government requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company.

20. Report any food safety and quality problems to the appropriate personnel, as well as follow quality and safety programs and policies themselves in order to ensure products made here meets the highest standards possible.
