Job Description

*This is a permanent, direct hire position with full benefits.

Are you an experienced surveyor that enjoys working outdoors?

Have you supervised survey crews and possess an understanding of advanced surveying principles?



Our client brings an exceptional opportunity for you to join a local team of surveying professionals. You will coordinate schedules for your crew, lead projects and provide training and development opportunities for your team members. This company has headquarters in Ellicott City with projects covering Frederick, Howard and surrounding Counties.



Your job duties:

* Plans, organizes and assigns all phases of work for survey crews in conducting land surveys of roads, bridges and commercial buildings.

* Conducts proactive troubleshooting and notifies the field crew.

* Trains survey crew in technical survey and safety methods, techniques and procedures.

* Arranges for Miss Utility for SUE designation on projects.

* Coordinates with the Safety Officer for on-site safety evaluations and reporting.

* Participates in hiring, evaluation and development of field crew team members.

* Maintains and calibrates survey instruments.

* Maintains field vehicles.

* Arranges for security badges and access passes to project sites.



The ideal candidate will have:

* HS Diploma or equivalent, LSIT strongly preferred

* 5 years' experience as a Surveyor/Rod Person

* 2 years' experience in a supervisory role or extensive training in surveying practices

* Valid Driver's License

* Ability to receive a Rapid Gate Pass - requires a background check for security clearances

* Firm working knowledge of advanced surveying, land development and drafting principles

* Advanced math skills in Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry

* Leadership ability and strategic planning skills in coordinating tasks for field crews

* Ability to lift up to 25lbs. and work outdoors in inclement weather



This position offers:

* Starting salary of $52 - 65,000/year, commensurate with experience
