Job Description

Currently seeking a Procurement Project Lead that possesses the skills and experience to direct the day to day purchases, receipts, storage, and sale of products to customers by performing the following duties personally. Our client is an engineering consulting company based in Germantown, MD.

Essential Responsibilities:

1)Participate and implement corporate-based projects/initiatives.

2)Lead complex special projects, research and initiatives critical and strategic importance to the business. Acquire concurrence from functional team through collaboration.

3)Lead formal negotiations with Suppliers

4) Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with the cost, quality, and delivery requirements.

5) Participate in various corporate and business level meetings

6) Act as an interface and fulfill data requests from corporate and external Government auditors.

7) Support the purchasing function by performing sourcing and market research activities.

8) Perform contractual releases on corporate agreements

9) Manage purchase requisitions and backlogs at an acceptable level.

10) Provide procurement support on proposal efforts as required

11) Administers all purchase orders including: monitoring performance, prices, and certifications; exercising of options, conducting market and price analysis and negotiating prices; maintaining purchase order files; issuing modifications as necessary; assisting management in resolving supplier problems; and resolving invoicing issues with Finance and Accounting.

12) Ensures that all necessary procurement data is entered and maintained in SharePoint.

13) Administer and maintain SharePoint sites.

14) Administer and maintain Amazon Business program.

15) Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

16) Perform audit tests to demonstrate adherence to policies and regulatory requirements. Identify gaps, training opportunities and process improvements. Follow up reviews to validate corrective actions have been implemented.

17) Maintain working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS)

18) Develop compliance metrics and benchmarks. Prepare weekly management report to include metric/KPI reporting.

19) Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and at least 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent.
