Job Description

Partner your 5+ years of progressive engineering experience as you apply your advanced knowledge of manufacturing equipment and automation. Your demonstrated background in project management, risk assessment and equipment commissioning enables you to work in partnership with one of the most progressive manufacturers in North America.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop decision analysis, theme and budget request documentation as applicable (4M approach - Man, Method, Material, Machine)

* Manage equipment development projects to meet Business Plan and New Model targets

* Develop and update schedules to track project status

* Complete reports documenting root cause and perform countermeasures for equipment downtime

* Develop and implement equipment improvements to improve equipment efficiency, reliability and recovery simplification

* Countermeasure completion & follow-up tracking (PDCA Cycle - Plan, Do, Check, Act)

* Supervise and coordinate contractors during equipment modifications and installations

* Create/modify drawings 2D and 3D software

* Develop and confirm equipment specifications for new equipment installs

* Identify and implement countermeasures for equipment cycle time problems



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

* Mechanical Engineering University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent practical experience

* Demonstrated knowledge and experience related to the specification and design of complex automated machinery

* Catia V5, SolidWorks, Inventor and / or 2D AutoCAD software experience

* Hands on approach and willingness to working on and troubleshooting equipment

* Strong MS Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint

* Experience with assembly processes and equipment

* Experience with risk assessments and equipment commissioning

* Training and demonstrated ability in using AutoCAD or CATIA/SolidWorks for process/equipment design and confirmation



CONSIDERED ASSETS

* Experience managing automation projects

* Demonstrated understanding of pneumatics or hydraulic systems

* Familiarity with relevant codes including Machine guarding, Robot safety, PHSR's, building code and construction safety act

* Experienced programming Fanuc

* Working knowledge of PLC's, safety PLC's , HMI devices, servo drives, and basic I/O devices

* Project leader and management experience

* Hands on approach to working on and troubleshooting equipment processes and modifications

* Ability to analyze equipment downtime, determine root cause & recommend countermeasures
