Job Description

An excellent opportunity to combine your Food Science or Bio Technology education with your experience in quality control or quality assurance. The purpose of this role is to deliver food safety training and Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs.



WHAT THE JOB IS

* Review all Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring and verification records to ensure compliance with HACCP

* Monitor HACCP and PRP's to ensure procedures are properly carried out

* Review and evaluate all records for accuracy and completeness and determine need for process improvement

* Help to develop and deliver training plans for HACCP, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), allergen control, chemical control, glass control, and all required process

* Perform mock recalls and ensure identification, labeling, and traceability system functions

* Conduct HACCP team meetings and required HACCP review

* Analyze process, identify trends and anomalies, and continually evaluate plant programs from improvement

* Ensure all food safety-related documents and records are controlled and that current issues are in use

* Keep informed of food safety laws and regulations



WHAT YOU BRING TO THE JOB

* Post-Secondary completion in a Food Science, Chemistry or Bio Science program

* HACCP or GMP certification preferred, but willing to train

* 1 - 3 years' experience in quality control, quality assurance or food safety

* Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work well people at all levels

* Demonstrated ability to evaluate information quickly, identify key issues, and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgment and experience

* Strong sense of personal ownership while maintaining a team-oriented environment

* Must be able to work effectively in a dynamic and complex environment

* Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Office
