Job Description

Operate, maintain, and monitor the performance of the production process or packaging equipment within the team. Meet qualification requirements to operate all pieces of equipment in the manufacturing area in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures, production and quality standards.



· Responsible for performing machine set-ups and changeovers per work order/line clearance requirements, in accordance with the production schedule.



· Responsible for troubleshooting material and minor maintenance problems.



· Perform minor equipment adjustments as required to meet output and quality expectations. Assist mechanic with major repairs as requested.



· Obtain and verify the necessary materials for manufacturing.



· Maintain performance measurement documentation, including machine up-time, efficiency, volume, scrap, and quality.



· Utilizing Statistical Process Control as a tool, must be able to complete and interpret control charts and monitor and react appropriately.



· Maintain an open line of communication to assure all problems and changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner



· Assist supervisors, engineers, and other support functions in the training of other Equipment Specialists in their duties.



· Maintain machine and immediate area in a clean and orderly condition at all times.



· Keep current on specification changes, equipment modifications, department procedures, and other changes which affect performance.



· Make suggestions for improving product quality and equipment. Collaborate with supervision, engineering, and other personnel on quality and performance improvements as requested.



· Participate on safety teams, emergency response teams, and other Continuous Improvement teams as required/requested.



· Comply with all local, state, federal, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures including Hazardous Waste regulations.



· Comply with all quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.



· Other duties as assigned.



Minimum Experience: Two to four years of manufacturing experience, preferably operating high speed automated machinery.



Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English and be competent in basic mathematics.
