Job Description

Our client is located in Ayr, is a leading supplier of vitamins/ nutritional solutions for animals/ personal care! We are looking for candidates to work as a Plant Production Operator in a facility in Ayr! As the Production Operator you will be reporting directly to the Production Supervisor and must be able to supervise on-site temporary personnel and assist in the supervision of onsite contractors.



Shift: 10 hour shifts, Monday- Thursday 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM / 2:30 PM - 12:00 AM

Wage: $18.00 / hour + 4% vacation pay paid out every week



What does the role entail?

* Handle raw materials, transport from storage bins, weigh ingreidents and add them to the process

* Monitoring/ maintaining / recording on manufacturing equipment and checking all calibration of scales daily

* Operator must run the control room as well as create SAP/SCORE production batch sheets and queues if and when applicable, bagging and stacking goods and must also be able to operate Production Enlabel system / print / apply required labels for production

* Sampling products according to operation management / system quality control procedures

* Reporting issues to the Production Supervisor

* Shipping and receiving duties

* Conduct training of new employees and manage their performance

* Maintain a clean work environment

* Support Manager in investigations

* Inventory duties: inventory stock levels, perform inventory cycle counts

* Communicate with other team members at beginning and end of shift

* Examines finished premix products to determine consistency and blend characteristics for future production continual improvement opportunities.

* Recommend improvements to product appearance, flow and packaging

* Perform minor maintenance work on equipment when necessary to ensure continuous operation process



Health and safety Duties:

* Must understand and comply with Lock Out Tag Out Try Out (LOTOTO), confined space, dust explosion, forklift, respirator, warehouse training and any other quality and or/ SHE training provided

* 16.Perform regular safety inspections and make recommendations for improvement take part in monthly safety meetings

* Operate in accordance with cGMP, quality, safety, health and environment guidelines and instructions



What you bring tothe job

* High school diploma or GED equivalent

* Minimum 6 months related experience preferred

* Good reading, writing and communication skills

* Ability to perform basic math



Experience Needed:

* Ability to operate computers / terminals / scanners

* Must be able to operate a forklift

* Knowledge of and adherence to and including enforcement of company policies addressing health, safety and environmental requirements

* Knowledge of and adherence of all cGMP, Quality (HACCP and ISO9001:2000 requirements)

* Ability and desire to learn and change as required by regulatory concerns and or issues
