Job Description

Do you have a desire to promote education, and have a love for children? Manpower has the job for you. We are seeking Full-time and Part-time Teachers for a local church based Preschool. You should demonstrate the ability to manage a classroom, plan and carry out the prescribed curriculum to include Bible based stories and perspectives. Have the ability and desire to build a rapport with parents and work together for the growth of the children. You will also meet the requirements in the class as outlined in the appropriate ITERS or ECERS rating system. Have knowledge of children's physical, emotional and developmental patterns.



Educational Requirements

1. Level I and II NCECAC or must enroll within six months of hire date and have nine semester hours in early childhood education or child development not including NCECAC requirement or enroll within six months of hire date.

2. Must enroll in and complete all courses required by local and state agencies within the allotted time frame mandated by the State of North Carolina or by this child care organization.

3. Must be willing to continue education classes in the child care field.



Additional Duties

Plan the curriculum for class and submit teaching plans to the director/administrators at least one week in advance. Plan should be readily available should a substitute worker need to take over the group.

Instruct the Assistant Teacher as to what assistance will be need each day. Supervise the Assistant Teacher in carrying out assigned activities.

Plan with the Administrative Director for Personnel to cover the class responsibilities in Teacher's absence.

Share responsibilities in the building or on the playground as assigned by the Director/Administrators.

Have at least two conferences with parents during the year as scheduled on the Preschool & Learning Center calendar. Additional conferences should be scheduled as needed.

Be sure the room is ready for church programs use on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Work with the Teaching Assistant to see that the cleaning and disinfecting procedures are carried out and properly documented and the room is clean and straight.

Keep the attendance record sheet up-to-date and make notations of problems and progress in each child's record folder.

Attend Staff meetings and In-house training sessions as scheduled by Director/Administrator.

Participate in quarterly work evaluations by the Director/Administors.

See that pupil-teacher ratios are met at all times and will have conferences with the Director/Administrators when Staff schedules need to be changed to meet ratio requirements.

Assume additional responsibilities as requested by the Director or Preschool Learning Center Committee.



Must be at least 21 years of age

Able to pass drug test and criminal background
