Job Description

Manpower is seeking Quality Technicians for temporary contract positions for one of their clients in Edmonton.



In this position you will be primarily be responsible for working within a team to inspect manufacturing products and/or outsourced components and materials and verifying conformance to company requirements.



Job Duties (included but not limited to):

* Verifies calibration of inspection tools prior to beginning assignment

* Read part reports, part drawings and quality instructions to determine dimension specifications, measurements and tests required to ensure quality and customer satisfaction

* Operates simple measuring devices such as rulers, micrometers and calipers to ensure that dimensions of production parts or materials and/or parts from outside suppliers are in conformance

* Operates under internal procedures, Quality System (QS) and external quality certifications, and other governmental and customer requirements and specifications

* Process SAP transactions for inventory and location moves

* Stocks materials using material handling equipment when necessary

* Calibrate fixed gages and other mechanical calibrations by assisting more experienced staff

* Works in a safe manner and keeps all employees and visitors in work area aware of potential dangers



REQUIREMENTS:

* High School Diploma or GED required. BA in Industrial Technology or equivalent preferred

* Minimum of one (1) year of quality or manufacturing experience

* Must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test

* Obtained first level certifications in several areas of inspection (dimensional, magnetic particles, dye penetrant or hardness testing) or has at least one level II Certification in a Quality Discipline

* Ability to read and understand drawings. Able to perform basic mathematical calculations

* Must be competent in several areas of dimensional inspection. Demonstrated ability to use more complex inspection equipment

* Possesses thorough knowledge of applicable engineering specifications, part reports and procedures

* Ability to interpret test specifications

* Strong interpersonal skills; including effective written and verbal communication

* Must have basic knowledge of quality auditing techniques and documentation requirements

* SAP use and experience an asset
