Job Description

Assembly Mechanic / Machine Builder - permanent job opportunity with a highly reputable well established machine manufacturing company based in the north Scarborough / Markham area.

Responsibilities include:

Assemble customized electro-mechanical industrial machinery - primarily will be working in shop however required to travel to customer sites on occasion to do installs

Read, interpret and understand blueprints, schematics and drawings

Utilizing drawings plan assembly and build sequence.

Build assemblies, sub-assemblies, segments of machines and construct/assist in the mechanical assembly of customized machines

Utilize a variety of power and hand tools for assembly.

Communicate potential problems to Lead / Manager

Ensure assembly and build tasks are completed within budget and on-time per schedule.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations.

Understand and maintain both quality and quantity standards and expectations.

Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.


Minimum 3-5 years' related machine building experience

Ability to understand and read blueprints/schematics and plan/build from them.

Relevant education - Mechanical Technician, Mechanical Engineering preferred

Must have a strong mechanical aptitude

Welding experience is appreciated.

Experience and proficient using tools and machining equipment for the trade.

Should have your own tools for the trade

Strong communication skills in English both verbal and written (must be able to understand and follow direction).

Flexible to travel domestic and International when required. Work overtime when required in order to meet company schedule requirements. Passport required.

Should possess a working knowledge of industry standard practices and techniques for machining and machine building.

Must thrive in a team effort to achieve success for the company and customers.

Must possess efficient organizational skills to follow timelines, prioritize, multitask to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Must demonstrate a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, on time delivery, and quality of products.

Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs
