Controller



Summary

Plans and directs the activities of the operational accounting function. Responsible for coordination, preparation and maintenance of accounting records and ensures that the Company's accounting records are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Primary Responsibilities

·Directs and supervises the accounting functions, including preparation, review and maintenance of accounting records

· Maintains a clear understanding of accounting principles, industry standards, company policies and procedures, and applies these principles to the financial transactions of the Company

· Develops, maintains and monitors systems, processes and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial and operating information

· Supports Operations management by providing regional level financial results and reports, ad hoc analysis, and variance analysis

· Responsible for the accounting for capital projects, including communication of appropriate in-service information and monitoring of spend

· Responsible for timely reporting of changes in fixed assets including additions, transfers and disposals

· Assist with the accounting for asset retirement obligations (ARO) including projected cash flow estimates and spend tracking

· Provides data for input into operating budgets and forecasts, including capital expenditures and supports the authorization for expenditure (AFE) process

· Manage the accounting and compliance for property and sales and use taxes for the regional group

· Performs analytical procedures on assigned general ledger accounts to explain variances and assist with management communication

· Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State laws and Company policies and procedures

· Performs other financial and administrative functions necessary



Position Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting

Oil & Gas industry exp preferred

Strong understanding of GAAP

Self-motivated individual with the ability to meet project timelines

Strong leadership skills with an ability to work well within a team structure

Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Excellent organizational, management, analytical, decision-making, and research skills
