Job Description


The Facilities Trades Helper (Building) position is responsible for the general maintenance of internal and external common areas, grounds and facilities of the building as well as completion of routine maintenance orders as assigned.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Plumbing issues such as: unclogging of sewer drains systems.

* Working with kitchen/lavatory faucets

* Commodes, urinals and automatic flush valves sensors.

* Assist with the repairs of the water softener system as well as the domestic water booster pump stations.

* Responsible for repairs/replacement of electrical components such as light switches, wall outlets, light bulbs and ballasts, fan coil motors.

* Work with and perform a variety of tasks associated with the general maintenance of the facilities, wall repairs/painting, ceiling tile, floor tile, minor carpet repairs, installation/replacement of doors and door hardware, minor concrete repairs, chain link fence, minor roof leak repairs.

* Assist skilled trade worker with the HVAC systems repairs and preventive maintenance fan coil unit air filters, fain coil water pumps, evaporator cleaning, chiller system condenser coils, cleaning of electrical controls, chilled/heating circulating water pumps and motors, hot water boilers system.

* Responsible for the upkeep of the kitchen's exhaust air filtration system.


This job will require lifting of objects that exceed 50 lbs., with frequent lifting and or carrying objects. Other physical demands that will be required include but not limited to:

* Frequently Squatting, Stooping, Twisting, Reaching, Standing, Bending and/or Kneeling.

* Pushing/Pulling objects in excess of 50 lbs. on occasion.


* Required: 2 - 3 years of Facility Trades experience.

* Bilingual (a plus) (English/Spanish).

* Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

* Must be able to work weekends and evenings when needed.

* Pay rate starts at $12-14/hr. DOE.
