Job Description

The Human Resources Manager guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for a mid-sized manufacturing and packaging company. The HR Manager oversees recruiting and staffing, organizational departmental planning, performance management and improvement systems, compliance to regulator concerns regarding employees, labor laws, training, and a host of other HR services and counseling. The HR Manager reports directly to the VP of Human Resources.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Responsible for maintaining the overall health and safety of the work force by ensuring all department managers and supervisors are leading by example concerning safety and overall health of their employees.

* Responsible for assisting the VP of HR in implementing policies and procedures in compliance with California and Federal Labor Laws as it applies to our client's work force.

* Responsible to assure the Employee Hand book is current and in line with all regulatory state and Federal compliance for all employees to abide by; will coordinate all legal input to the Employee Hand book via our outside company lawyer.

* Responsible to oversee all activities as it pertains to employee benefits to include Medical, Dental and eye insurances as well as other benefits to include 401K savings plan and life insurances.

* Assist the VP of HR in Workers Compensation Renewals, Medical and all other benefit renewals to assure adequate coverage is in place for our client's valued employees.

* Oversee and conduct employee investigations in a fair and balance manner as it pertains to company violations to include written and formal complaints, sexual harassment, discrimination and any and all company violations necessary for the overall health and safety of the work force.

* Responsible to hire, terminate, discipline and enforce company rules, regulations and policies as it pertains to the Employee Hand book.

* Assists the VP of HR to advise and direct the Board of Directors, VP's, managers, supervisors and all other employees on the do's and don'ts of implementing policies, procedures, labor laws, layoffs, State and Federal rules and regulations as needed to be in total compliance for running a business.

* Responsible to oversee that payroll is transmitted on time, all documents to include time sheets, expense reports, performance reviews, promotions and any and all pay roll deductions are submitted to pay roll.

* Responsible for writing Job Descriptions as it pertains to employees working in manufacturing, packaging and bottling operations

* Works with the VP of HR to set up current and accurate pay scales as it pertains to local and State wage and hour rates.



WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

* Must possess a minimum 5 years working in a fast paced medium to large size company as an HR Manager.

* Must have a clear understanding of all labor Law rules and regulations necessary to keep our client's in compliance with State and Federal compliance.

* Must understand all aspects of payroll to include the latest updates of ADP software's and time keeping systems.

* Must have the ability to write job descriptions and set pay scales according to skills and abilities to new hires, current employees and temporary work force employees.



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

* Must possess a BA degree in HR or 5 - 10 years related experience

* Must be efficient in word, excel and all other software's as it pertains to the HR department

* Must have certificates of achievements in the following areas:
