Job Description

Our client is seeking a Security Administrator to join their Ottawa team. The Security Administrator is responsible for assisting the Company Security Officer with the processing of security clearances and Visit Clearance Requests (VCRs) for the various projects.

The successful individual must be a Land Claims Beneficiary from one of the following Comprehensive Land Claim Agreements:

* Nunavut Land Claims Agreement,

* Tlicho Agreement,

* Inuvialuit Final Agreement,

* Gwich'in Comprehensive Land Agreement or

* Umbrella Final Agreement.


* Processing security clearances for employees:

* Provide instructions on how to complete clearances using Online Industrial Security Services (OLISS);

* Provide instructions on where and how to obtain electronic fingerprints;

* Collect signatures on clearance certificates when received and file on SharePoint;

* Follow-up with Public Service Procurement Canada (PSPC) if there is trouble with processing a clearance

* Provide appointed security officers with instructions on how to complete clearances using OLISS;

* Follow-up with PSPC if there is an issue with the vendor's registration; and

* Track vendor registration in SharePoint

* Contact vendors to collect employee clearance information;

* Track employee clearance information in SharePoint.

* Assist vendors with registering in the Contract Security Program (CSP):

* Submit forms to Public Service Procurement Canada (PSPC);

* Invite vendors to register in the CSP and assist with registration package;

* Assist vendors with completing registration package;

* Provide appointed security officers with instructions on where and how to obtain electronic fingerprints;

* Provide vendors with instructions of electronic fingerprints, appointing security officers and obtaining electronic fingerprints as need; and

* Track VCR submissions and approvals in SharePoint.


* Excellent computing skills (Microsoft Office)

* Bachelor's degree in business or administration

* Diligence, tact and discretion

* Ability to work with minimum supervision and to make decisions within qualified limits

* Ability to work with confidential material with utmost security and maturity

* Ability to prioritize assignments in an organized manner

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, management and outside contacts

* Ability to accept responsibility and take initiative

* Good communications skills, written and oral

* Administrative experience

* Knowledge of company structure and procedures

* Experience working in an office environment with remote work locations
