Job Description

Summary: Tests, inspects and audits products at various stages of the production process and receiving. Compiles data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Coordinates inspections and tests status procedures when material problems arise which are cross-departmental, or requiring special attention for lot segregation or other purposes.

Communicates quality issues to the appropriate people to address the impact on our service to the customer and the effects on manufacturing lines.

Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with his/her supervisor to determine quality and reliability standards.

Selects products for tests at specific stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.

Records test data, applying quality written or verbal instructions.

Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviation from existing standards.

Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics.

Prepares graphs, charts, or data, or enters data into computer for analysis.

* Basic reading and writing.

* Must be able to read and understand prints.

* Must be able to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, vision systems.

* Possess self-motivated initiative to improve safety, quality, and maximize efficiency.

* Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks in a timely manner

* Ability to multi-task as needed.

* Knowledge of proper use of safety equipment (PPE); i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs, and work boots where necessary.

Education and/or Experience

Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
