Location: New Century, KS 66031

Job Title: QC Lab Technician

Pay: $19 / hr

Contract Length: 1000 hours (about 6 months)


Primary purpose and major objectives:

* To use analytical and sensory methods to sample/ evaluate line products at the time of manufacture

* Conduct as-needed inspection of packaging and raw materials being used to manufacture Margarine and Spread products.

* Assist in trouble shooting and production improvement investigations, as well as implementation of corrective actions applied.

* (Microbiological testing on finished product and packaging utilizing Petri-film/ standard methods.)

* Assist Quality Supervisor in covering the lab.

* Ensure appropriate records and documents are completed as required

Core responsibilities of this position:

* Product specification controls: analyze product moisture, salt, pH and sorbate presence.

* Make adjustments/communicate with batchers as necessary based on analytical results

* Packaging quality control: appearance, fill, code dates.

* Ensure necessary corrections are made and that non-conforming goods is place on hold.

* Verify QC records are in order

* (Desired: Microbiological testing):

* Collect samples for micro analysis.

* Conduct micro analysis on aqueous phases, finished product. Work closely with QC team to ensure all required products are sampled.

* Weights control:

* Ensure the fill control of Line products is in compliance with standards.

* Verify line operators are complying with the fill (Freeweigh) policies.

* Perform analytical data in to computer programs.

* Must have ability to utilize MS Office applications with ability to learn other current software.

* Follow SOP's related to all laboratory activities, line testing and microbiological analysis.
