Job Description

Manpower is seeking a Manufacturing Technician/Engineer for our client in Victoria, TX. This position will be responsible for supporting second shift robotic welding operations for the assembly fabrication operations at the Victoria, TX facility. This role works both independently and as part of a team to maintain and improve the processes and systems used in product manufacturing. In addition to providing day-to-day support, this individual will utilize systematic problem-solving techniques to continuously improve manufacturing operations in the areas of employee safety, product quality, and process throughput.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Operate and troubleshoot welding robots

* Manipulate robots manually through program steps when required

* Recover robots from alarms and unexpected outages

* Facilitate the development of shift operators skills

* Perform a technical analysis of manufacturing processes to support management decisions

* Design / direct the acquisition, design, fabrication, and repair of all necessary tooling and machines

* Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develops solutions, and monitors improvements

* Monitor all exchange and in-house requirements

* Procure material related to manufacturing improvements through external suppliers

* Perform quality checks on machines

* Analyze and deploys engineering change notices

* Establish and maintain bill of materials and work orders

* Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements

* Provide day-to-day coaching duties in the absence of team leader

* Analyzes and recommend current and future systems, procedures, training and equipment needs

* Provide analysis and recommendations for engineering product designs


* University or technical school degree in a Manufacturing Engineering-related curriculum with a focus on robotics or,

* Minimum of 2 years fabrications robotic welding manufacturing experience

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

* Familiarity with Yaskawa Motoman welding robots

* Strong competency in the Microsoft Office Suite of software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

* Proven background in safe work practices

* Experience in tooling and fixture design

* Understanding of ASME standards for lifting devices

* Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers

* Thorough knowledge of fabrications manufacturing concepts

* Effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal

* Ability to manage several projects at once in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment

* Ability to work a flexible schedule during times of peak activity

* Good teamwork skills

* Thorough knowledge of manual and robotic/numeric-controlled welding and machining processes

* Experience using VPPA, Team Center, AutoCad, SolidWorks and SAP

* Full understanding of the Victoria facility prescribed standard work instructions, 5S, and tool presentation methodology
