General Job Description:

The Production Manager's position is responsible for managing all aspects of production. This includes printing, finishing, shipping, warehousing, inventory, operations, purchasing of direct materials, and management of warehouse staff and workflow processes. Under general direction, the Production Manager performs a variety of technical and support services involving printing and production operations. This position is also responsible for establishing and maintaining production schedules. Before the products are shipped, the Production Manager ensures that the shipment conforms to the requests and requirements of the customer.



Specific Responsibilities:

*Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organization's mission

*Supervise the staffing and operations of digital printing, reproduction, and bindery equipment

*Reviews print requests and organizes a work schedule

*Devises an accountability system for each phase of production to ensure the timely completion of the project

*Provides direction and support during schedule interruptions to accommodate emergency requests

*Operate production equipment as needed

*Inspect and verify that completed projects meet quality standards

*Establishes schedules and staff assignments to meet due date and production requirements

*Maintains daily production reports to provide information and direction

*Analyzes printing/copying, binding, shipping and warehousing practices to develop, promote and support cost effective processes.

*Implementing and maintaining production procedures

*Performs safety inspection on equipment and reports findings to Operations Manager

*Demonstrates continuous efforts to improve operations (decrease turn-around times, streamline work processes)

*Works cooperatively with other individuals and departments in a professional manner to provide seamless quality customer service

*Enables staff to be self-motivated, positive attitudes, and have the ability to problem solve

*Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor

*Mentor and guide staff

*Provide training to staff

*Maintains inventory of paper, hardware, bindery supplies and other consumables

*Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities

*Purchase direct materials for jobs

*Duties as assigned



Sr. Production Manager must have experience with Printing Processes.
