Job Description

Position Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Inventory Manager to join our growing company. Your chief goal in this position will be to monitor and report on our company's inventory levels. You will be responsible for developing inventory tracking systems, reviewing levels of supplies, ordering new materials, and performing a daily analysis.



A successful inventory manager is a trustworthy professional with outstanding record-keeping and analytic abilities. The chosen candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to interpret and analyze large amounts of data. This role requires the ability to influence across the organization and create enduring processes that support accuracy of data.



Key Business Objectives

* Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures

* Inspect the levels of business supplies and raw material to identify shortages

* Implement and execute an inventory replenishment system ensuring proper levels of stock

* Act as a liaison between departments and buyers and determine obsolete stock while optimizing inventory turnover



Essential Functions

* Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers

* Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory

* Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory

* Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus

* Analyze data to anticipate future needs

* Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships

* Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure business goals

* Maintain accurate inventory counts throughout

* Create and implement control activities to prevent shrinkage and theft of products/goods

* Report to upper management on stock levels, issues etc.



Requirements

* Proven experience as inventory manager or similar position

* Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods

* Working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g. ERP)

* Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports

* An analytical mind with strong math skills

* Excellent organizational and planning skills

* Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
