Manpower is currently looking to hire an Engineering Lead for a permanent position for one of their clients based in the Edmonton area.

In this position you will be taking on a leadership role, working with various team members to achieve targets and complete projects in a fast paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Contribute to the management team ensuring operation centric considerations are incorporated into all planning, decision making and issue resolutions

*Translate the direction that is set at the management team meetings into corresponding direction

*Ensure that appropriate strategizing, risk taking and delegation is included in translating direction into action to attain the level of functional performance that is expected by company leadership

*Contribute to operational effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed - Act only after consultation.

*Ensure the operational functions, purpose and accountabilities of the engineering function are achieved

*Responsible for planning, guiding, budgeting, organizing, monitoring and controlling the engineering resources to achieve operating objectives

*Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions

*Complete engineering department operational work requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results

*Maintain engineering staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees

*Maintain operational engineering staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning resources, monitoring, and appraising job results, including reporting on staff performance to the Department Manager

*Develop engineering staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.

*Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.


*Recognized university with a bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent

*Professional Engineering designation or eligible for registration with APEGA

*15 + years of combined experience in team leadership and engineering service based company

*Project Management Certification would be an asset

*Excellent Leadership skills

*Strong Communication (oral & written)

*Advanced attention to details

*Able to problem solve and think strategically Strategic thinking
