Job Description

Associate will be responsible to assist the Direct of Facilities in the day-to-day housekeeping duties of church buildings witht he goal of promoting a clean, neat, organized and safe environment.

Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions

1. Assist the Director of Facilities in the day-to-day housekeeping duties of church buildings.

2. Be on time, regular in attendance, ready to work, demonstrate a positive and professional

attitude, look for opportunities to serve others, and avoid saying "that's not my job".

3. Perform housekeeping duties which include, but is not limited to the following areas:

A. Clean, disinfect, and sanitize bathrooms and kitchens;

B. Restock soap, paper towels, toilet paper dispensers;

C. Clean, mop, wash, buff, and vacuum floors and stairwells;

D. Empty and transport trash to exterior trash and recycle containers;

E. Clean and polish fixtures;

F. Clean doors and windows;

G. Dust furniture in offices, classrooms, reception areas, worship centers, and


H. Straighten and restock materials in pews;

I. Clean cobwebs from ceilings, corners, vents, and fans;

J. Replace lightbulbs if accessible;

K. Cleans and maintain gymnasium and playground/bathroom areas.

L. Engage in deep clean protocols during winter and summer breaks.

4. Perform room set-up and tear downs as assigned.

5. Assist in duties related to opening, closing, and securing the church building. Make sure all

doors are locked when not in use.

6. Adhere to OSHA requirements regarding protective gear, clean-up and disposal. Responds

immediately and follows guidelines for dealing with bloodborne pathogens standards.

7. Engage in daily, weekly, and quarterly inspections of facilities. Complete, submit, and followup with work orders as needed.

8. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and breakroom.

9. Be a TEAM PLAYER to maximize efficiency and productivity. Assist HPBC Facilities Staff -

Maintenance as needed.

10. Adhere to the Financial Policy. Demonstrate good stewardship of the facilities and budget.

Maintain and adhere to inventory processes for housekeeping supplies to avoid shortages.

11. Provide timely and effective communication to Director, team members, and staff about

relevant issues concerning facilities operations.

12. Adhere to the accident prevention program to avoid the improper usage of equipment and

chemicals. Follow procedures for the handling, storing, disposal, and documentation of

hazardous materials. Participate in Workers' Compensation training and requirements.

13. Be VISIBLE and AVAILABLE to staff, members, and visitors on Sundays and Special


14. Support "All Hands on Deck" which means everyone is needed to help in a particular

situation or emergency.

15. Perform all other duties as assigned by Director of Facilities and/or designee.

Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include tending furnace and boiler, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk.
