Job Description

Manpower is currently seeking an Applications Developer to fill a full time contract position with one of our clients, a Major Pipeline Company in Edmonton Alberta


* Full stack application development knowledge with a focus on continuous feedback between the teams to spot gaps, issues, and inefficiencies

* Responsible for policy configuration for security, service levels, frameworks, usage, topology for DevOps efforts

* Responsible for the definition of packages of work, decomposition of packages into manageable sprints or iterations

* Participate on cross-functional development team in defining specific solution components with technical issues and decisions consistent with architecture standards and plans

* Review the technology landscape to bring in new ideas, support and encourage innovation; build business cases for new technology implementations and present to senior management for approval where necessary

* Develop and maintain working knowledge of the tools and repositories used by the client to manage the DevOps documentation

* Communicate complex designs in business terms to internal and external decision makers, engaging with them to explain technical drivers and how such solutions/strategies address their current and future needs

* Effectively engage, collaborate, and assert recommendations with Business, IT operations personnel, and other subject matter experts within and outside Enbridge to address their concerns and add value to project solution designs

* Create, review, and approve technical solution design documentation of projects and initiatives

* Be aware of the technology investment roadmap defined for the business domain impacted by assigned projects and initiatives

* Possess comprehensive understanding of, participate in, and champion the architecture project solution architecture review process and its integration in the clients standard SDLC

* Possess a basic understanding of the long-term client's application portfolio roadmap and direction specific to the business domain assigned

* Able to read and understand the business component model diagrams, data model diagrams, infrastructure deployment models, logical application designs, and business process diagrams

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* University degree or diploma in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent.

* Proficient in:

o C#

o Entity Framework

o Frontend JavaScript UI frameworks (React preferred)

* Strong understanding of DevOps best practices and tools.

* Robust knowledge of testing frameworks and release management practices.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for problem solving are required

* Familiarity using version control software (Git preferred)

* Proven experience building, consuming and documenting RESTful web services

* Understanding of UML as a modeling language used for logical and physical project solution design documentation.

* Understanding of Business Process Modeling Notation and Business Process Execution Language notation and development
