Manpower is currently partnering with a leading hospital to hire an HVAC Engineer with chiller experience based out of New York City. This is a temporary position with potential to turn into a full-time permanent opportunity.

Job Title: HVAC Engineer

Job Location: New York, NY 10065

Duration: 6+ months (potential to go permanent)

Salary: $45-50 per hour

Shift Timing: Shifts will vary between 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm, and 10pm to 6am. 5 days a week which can include weekends.

Job Summary:

Seeking candidates with 4-7 years of experience with heating, cooling refrigeration, chiller experience, controls knowledge and plumbing and electrical experience (related to HVAC).

Job Requirements:

A working knowledge of at least three trades is required such as heating, cooling, refrigeration (HVAC), plumbing, electrical.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with diverse constituencies and accomplished written and oral communication skills are necessary.

Computer literacy and a working knowledge with architectural plans and specifications are essential.

An understanding of the importance of customer service, preventative and proactive maintenance, and energy conservation is required.

Must be able to read blue prints.

Must be physically fit, because the duties require overhead work, use of ladder, tools, and lifting of heavy materials.

Must be able to clearly communicate both orally and in writing.

Must attend regular safety meetings and adhere to good safety practices at all times


At least 3 years of experience working under a refrigeration license. Chiller experience is required.

High School Diploma or GED

Should possess the following certifications within 6 months of start:

* New York City Fire Department Certificate of Qualification for Refrigerating System Operating Engineer (Q-01)

* New York City Fire Department Certificate of Fitness G-71 Supervision of Pipe Non-Flammable Medical Gas

* New York City Fire Department Certificate of Fitness for Fireguard F-60

* New York City Fire Department Certificate of Fitness for Torch Use of Flammable Gases G-60

* FDNY Certificate of Fitness P-98 Supervise Fuel Oil Transfer in Buildings

* FDNY Certificate of Fitness F-01 Fire Guard

* FDNY Certificate of Fitness S-12 Sprinkler Systems

* FDNY Certificate of Fitness A-35 Supervision of Air Compressors
