Job Description

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS



Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversight and Inspection of Contractor pipeline installation crews



Responsibilities

* Inspect the installation of mains and services to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and adherence to processes.

* Inspect reinstatement work and adherence to contract specifications

* Completion of required paperwork and electronic records for mains and services.

* Records and data completion and verification through the use of GPS data acquisition in the field and other propriety software.

* Regular reporting on the quality of various contractors.

* Identification of problems in process and opportunities for efficiencies through improved work practices.

* Follow up on customer complaints or concerns raised by other parts of Operations regarding the quality of the work done by contractors.

* Coaching and mentoring of contractors. Identify shortfalls in contractor skills and make appropriate arrangements to rectify these.

* Provide support to the Construction Department



Qualifications

* Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills

* Preference will be given to individuals with 1 - 3 years or current inspection experience

* Engineering Technologist or related postsecondary education and construction, survey experience or project management is an asset

* Excellent knowledge of the contracts under which contractors are working, business processes in Operations and other related business units.

* Valid driver's license and other relevant, licenses/certificates, preferred Pipeline Inspectors Ticket (Ontario GPI) from TSSA

* Welding experience or gas fitter experience / qualifications is an asset.

* Demonstrated knowledge of customer focus, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills.

* Other key competencies to include: results orientation, organization, and business knowledge.

* Ability to work well independently, self-motivated



MUST HAVE qualifications:

Valid driver's license



NICE TO HAVE qualifications:

Preference will be given to individuals with 1 - 3 years or current inspection experience

Engineering Technologist or related postsecondary education and construction, survey experience or project management is an asset.

Welding experience or gas fitter experience / qualifications is an asset.



Working Conditions:

OT and On-call can be required.
