    Our growing Burlington client who is a leader in the Security industry is looking for a Technical Writer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years related experience and will be responsible for the following:

    Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives the Technical Writer is responsible for producing high quality documents, proposals, manuals, etc. and will be solely responsible for all stages of the document design, development and production. These may include RFP/Bid Proposals, Presentations, Operational Plans/Manuals, Operating instructions and SOP's, project descriptions, whitepapers, newsletters, training plans, process reviews, or any other business-related documents.

    The Technical Writer will work collaboratively with various individuals and/or teams across the organization to understand needs and requirements, gather information/content, review draft documentation for accuracy and completeness, prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks and timelines.
    * Organize and maintain a comprehensive library of all company Policies, Processes/Procedures and Manuals
    * Standardize documentation style, layout, language and content across platforms and media and create templates and scripts;
    * Plan and prioritize future documentation plans/projects in collaboration with the management team and manage multiple streams of work and parallel deadlines of assigned deliverables;
    * Develop, organize, write and edit proposals, operational procedures and manuals, white papers, training programs/plans and e-learning guides, employee handbooks, etc.
    * Participate in defining and creating presentation and marketing/brand standards and guides and documentation
    * Participate and/or lead RFP and Project management Working Groups/meetings to prepare quality, creative and timely proposals
    Education and Experience
    * A degree or diploma in Technical, Professional or Business Writing, or Research or equivalent relevant field (e.g. Journalism, English, or Communications);
    * 5+ years of proven professional experience in a technical writer or content manager position;
    * Experience writing product content in a regulated industry;
    * Experienced and proficient in a variety of Technical Writer tools, including Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft® Word, MS Visio, WebWorks ePublisher, Google Office Suite, MadCapFlare, RoboHelp, PageMaker, Quark, Confluence, Jira, and MS Project Online, Primavera, etc. and demonstrated capability to learn a new tool/technology quickly and efficiently;
    * Experience with Adobe Technical Communication Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign and familiarity with SharePoint, XML, HTML, CSS is strongly desired;
    * Experience in design and content creation of Proposal/Presentation documents, Operation Manuals, Policies and Procedures (soft and hard copy);
    * Experience working with content management systems, knowledge base systems, version control systems and other information-delivery platforms and Document Management Systems (DMS);
    * Experienced in developing technical writing standards, best practices, and working with style guides, templates, scripts, style sheets, and graphic libraries;
    * Formal project management experience with a demonstrated knowledge of common project monitor and control best practices and reporting structures

    Salary $80,000-$85,000

     This positions Involves the keyboarding, formatting and editing of a variety of data, both numeric and alpha, from hardcopy/on-line drafts using office systems applications such as (but not limited to) Lotus Notes, Lotus SmartSuite (WordPro, 123 ), MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) PK Zip (Winzip), Adobe Acrobat, Word Perfect, etc. It also involves editing and proofing the documentation, presentations, executive letters, labels, contracts, etc. The output must be of the highest quality and free from grammatical and spelling errors.
     File, retrieve and manager electronic storage files; burn CDs for customer and archiving needs
     Scan hard copy graphics and convert to readable files.

     Excellent customer service skills
     Capable of editing basic graphic presentations in Freelance and PowerPoint.
     Some knowledge of graphic computer packages desirable - Illustrator, PhotoShop
     Excellent spelling and grammatical skills
     Possesses technical aptitude, is a quick learner, self starter, good time management skills.
     Excellent communication skills, written /verbal
     1 year word processing experience
