    Manpower is seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our client's team for a term of approximately 16 months.

    Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the successful candidate will be responsible to manage and support the day-to-day operations and planning for general HR functions, including policy development and implementation, performance management, employee relations, special projects and initiatives, and more. This is a hands on role focused on maintaining a healthy, productive, and well supported workforce and leadership team across a national healthcare services organization.

    Responsibilities

    *Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in providing consultation and advice on human resource management issues and activities in accordance with provincial Employment Standards and Human Rights Acts;
    *Building dynamic, cross-functional working relationships by understanding the business and our environment, and applying that knowledge when providing consultative services;
    *Developing, implementing, and executing programs, policies, and plans in coordination with the HR & Payroll team;
    *HR Process planning and implementation, including assisting with the integration of an HRIS into day to day tasks;
    *Preparation and analysis of HR metrics and reports;
    *Supporting the department and the business by leading assigned HR activities such as Employee Relations, Policy Development, and Performance Management;
    *Participating in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems;
    *Leading by example in living our values and fostering the culture within our organization through the work performed;
    *Managing communications and relationships to ensure an efficient and positive experience for stakeholders; and
    *Maintaining thorough documentation of all activities and projects.

    Qualifications

    *Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related discipline, OR a Certificate in Human Resources, OR equivalent combination of education and experience;
    *5+ years of progressive experience in an HR role;
    *CPHR designation attained or in progress is preferred;
    *Superior communication skills (writing, reading, oral), fluent bilingualism is a strong asset;
    *Experience partnering with various stakeholders in a cross-functional environment;
    *Sound knowledge of employment laws and practices is required, and preference will be given to candidates with experience interpreting and applying employment legislation in multiple provinces;
    *Well-developed critical thinking and problem solving skills; ability to make decisions and work autonomously when necessary;
    *Experience in the administration of various HR programs, preferably in an environment where employees were spread out over various geographic areas;
    *Excellent technology skills including demonstrated experience in Excel and an ability to troubleshoot basic issues; experience working with or implementing an HRIS is a strong asset;
    *Highly organized with strong attention to detail;
    *Strong interpersonal skills with employees at all levels, with demonstrated conflict management and resolution skills;
    *Capable of balancing multiple demands and priorities under tight deadlines;
    *Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs;
    *Desire to take on challenges and help shape a fast growing organization; and
    *Highly developed planning and organizational skills with a flexible and results oriented approach.

    Manager, Payroll & HR

    The Manager, Payroll & HR Ops is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of Global Payroll Team, including managing and overseeing all operations and activities relating to payroll and staff, for multiple payrolls and vendors.     Primary Functions:

    * Provide effective leadership, supervision, and guidance to payroll and HR Ops team members to enable them succeed on their job

    * Continually review and analyze payroll processes, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement updates and changes necessary for compliance and increased efficiencies
    * Experience leading a US and Canadian payroll function is essential

    * Ensure the processing of new hires, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely
    * Work with HRIS vendors to update, maintain and test updates and corrections as well as resolve complex issues
    * Set measurable goals for the payroll team to achieve, and ensure quality service is delivered
    * Assist payroll staff members in answering customers' inquiries and questions, and researching, troubleshooting, and resolving cases relating to customers.
    * Manage regular preparation of reports, including end of pay period/monthly/quarterly/year-end reports (PTO, tax payments, salary changes, etc.) and perform reconciliation on a pay period and quarterly basis
    * Member of the team implementing a new HCM system for 2019-2020
    * Verify protocol documentation for payroll processes
    * Interpret established policies to employees and managers and educate them on how to apply the policies
    * Work with Ultimate Software to ensure all garnishments are processed accurately
    * Update/maintain unemployment contribution rates in Ultimate
    * Provide Ad-hoc reports and metrics on Payroll/HR related data
    * Annually review and reconcile W-2s
    * Maintains payroll staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
    * Provide HRIS related training and tools to Managers and HR team
    * Ability to travel as needed

    Education and Years of Experience:

    Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience

    10 plus years hands on payroll and management, multi-state US and Canadian payroll experience required

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    * In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, such as chart accounts and general ledger and their application
    * Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially with Excel, Ultimate Software Experience.
    * Knowledge of applicable HR laws and terminology, including but not limited to FMLA, COBRA, PTO, employment and wage verification, wage garnishments and unemployment claims processing.

    Vous avez le profil idéal si :

    Job Responsibilities:

    Presents to Hiring Managers, and works as liaison between candidates, Hiring Managers and HR business partners providing guidance through the interview, offer, and hiring process.
    Lead small project teams, and volunteer for stretch assignments to expand working knowledge within, and outside of sourcing. * Generates reports and data, new proposals and general corporate information. * Adhere to and execute against the Talent Acquisition KPI's.
