A large global aerospace manufacturer lacking engineering support was required to provide technical writing services to outline their processes for maintenance and repair on commercial jet engines. The client’s engineering staff was tasked with analyzing the engines as they were delivered and designing the maintenance and repair requirements, creating a significant bottleneck in the process, causing major delivery delays, and greatly impacting the time to market to their customers.
Solution
The client engaged Manpower Engineering to build a team of Technical Writers/Engineering Support that was deployed to provide documentation and engineering support as an outsourced solution. By engaging with the client engineering team to review the processes, develop the technical documents, and review and update the standard work processes, it allowed the operations teams to execute the engine maintenance and repair protocols.

As a result of the technical writing support, the client has decreased their time to market by 23%, has made a commitment to further build out the team to streamline that process and has identified other areas to use engineering outsourced management services.
