Quoting Specialist (Machine Shop / Contract Manufacturing)

Manpower Direct Hire is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company to identify an experienced Quoting Specialist for a first-shift opportunity. This is a fantastic opportunity for a machining professional who understands the ins and outs of contract manufacturing and can accurately develop competitive quotes that help win new business.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on machine shop experience who is ready to leverage their technical knowledge in a highly visible position with long-term career growth potential. The company anticipates this individual could eventually transition into broader Contract Manufacturing Sales leadership responsibilities.
What You'll Do

• Review customer RFQs and develop accurate, competitive quotations
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing requirements
• Obtain material pricing from suppliers and vendors
• Coordinate with internal machining and production teams to determine cycle times and manufacturing costs
• Evaluate labor, equipment, tooling, and outside processing costs
• Prepare and submit quotes within tight customer deadlines
• Work with urgency to ensure timely responses, as speed and accuracy are critical to winning business
• Collaborate across departments to ensure quote accuracy and profitability

• Previous experience creating quotes in a machine shop or contract manufacturing environment
• Hands-on machining background with strong understanding of manufacturing processes
• Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints
• Knowledge of machining operations, cycle times, materials, tooling, and production costs
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• CNC machining experience
• Prior estimating, quoting, or cost-analysis experience
• Experience working directly with customers and suppliers
