Our client, a logistics and warehouse operations team is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join their team. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be part of the Receiving and Logistics support area, helping keep product flow accurate, safe, and on schedule. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and a safety-first mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Location: Van Nuys, CA
Pay Range: $26.00/hr
Shift: Day Shift - 10 hour shifts - 6am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday
What's the Job?
- Perform all Receiving functions, including checking deliveries for correct items, count, and weight; sample incoming raw materials; and report discrepancies or damages.
- Maintain the warehouse in a neat and orderly manner by ensuring quarantined materials are properly segregated and approved raw materials are stored correctly.
- Communicate and coordinate between departments to resolve PO discrepancies and support safe handling and storage of products.
- Perform daily maintenance checks on material handling equipment and ensure proper working conditions.
- Support the Logistics Manager in maintaining safety and environmental compliance on the Receiving floor, including direct supervision during hazardous duties and adherence to safety practices.
What's Needed?
- High School Diploma required.
- Ability to perform daily or weekly inventory cycle counts according to schedule to support stock accuracy.
- Ability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
- Ability to organize stock locations and ensure items are correctly labeled with SKUs and barcodes.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers) in compliance with safety standards and transport materials safely from the receiving dock to storage or production areas.
