Phlebotomist III - Floater

Location: Independence, MO
Pay Rate: $28/hr
Employment Type: Contingent with potential pathway for hire
Schedule: Varied 8-hour shifts between 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; rotating every 4th Saturday, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

What You'll Do

• Collect blood specimens using venipuncture and capillary collection techniques while following established procedures
• Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties with accuracy and professionalism
• Verify patient identification, demographic information, and specimen labeling to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and maintain required records and documentation
• Travel between multiple Patient Service Centers and In-Office Phlebotomy locations as business needs require
• Maintain a safe, professional, and patient-focused environment at all times
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume setting while maintaining specimen integrity
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors and provide outstanding customer service to patients, clients, and team members

What We're Looking For

• A current, up-to-date resume
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
• Excellent phlebotomy and specimen handling skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with a clean driving record, if applicable
• Ability to travel between multiple work locations with minimal notice
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
• Phlebotomy certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred
• Keyboard and data entry experience
• Flexible availability to support rotating Saturdays, overtime, holidays, and other staffing needs
• Ability to meet compliance requirements
