Our client, an industry leader in manufacturing and automation solutions, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting automation and control system projects. The ideal candidate will have problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Sterling Heights, MI area
What's the Job?
- Design and develop control systems, including PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA system configuration.
- Develop and optimize control algorithms for machinery, equipment, and industrial processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems, automation, and electrical systems.
- Lead or assist with planning, designing, and executing control system projects, ensuring timely delivery.
- Integrate new control systems with existing machinery and perform system testing and validation.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in control system design, automation, and troubleshooting (typically 2-5 years).
- Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), SCADA systems, and HMI development.
- Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
