Controls Engineer

Our client, Industrial Controls is seeking a Automation Specialist II to join their team. As an Automation Specialist II, you will be part of the Engineering & Controls team supporting project delivery and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical ownership, clear communication with stakeholders, and a drive to troubleshoot and improve automation systems which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range: $90000 - $1000000

What's the Job?

• Collaborate with project managers and estimators to assess potential projects and support proposal development.
• Read and interpret diagrams and documentation, and communicate with customers to understand objectives and preferences.
• Develop overall control system architecture and communication strategy between control system elements.
• Serve as technical lead for small projects, including building PLC and HMI templates for the project.
• Develop PLC programs (Ladder, Function Block, and other languages), HMI, test plans, simulation logic, and training materials; test installed systems and troubleshoot startup issues.

What's Needed?

• 4 years of Industrial Controls experience in architectural, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry or a similar field.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent Industrial controls experience.
• 4 years of experience in PLC programming, including ladder logic, function block, and structured text.
• Proficiency with Allen Bradley equipment and systems, plus familiarity with networking (Ethernet/IP).
• Experience and knowledge of HMIs, including the ability to develop and validate control system functionality.
