Our client, a leading autonomous vehicle technology company, is seeking a Readiness and Response Operator 2 (RR2) to join their team. As an RR2, you will play a critical role in ensuring the robotaxi fleet is fully prepared for public operation. This position blends technical execution with field operations, supporting both service and test fleets while acting as a frontline responder during on‑road recovery events. The ideal candidate will have strong operational discipline, technical aptitude, and the ability to remain composed in dynamic, public‑facing environments.
 
Job Title: Readiness and Response Operator 2
Location: Austin, TX
Pay Range: $29/hour
 
 
What’s the Job?

  • Perform precise pre‑service and post‑service checks, including mechanical inspections, sensor verification, and data‑processing steps to ensure vehicles meet readiness standards.
  • Serve as a primary responder for in‑field vehicle recovery, coordinating safe extractions, documenting incidents, and supporting vehicle repositioning on public roads.
  • Use remote operation tools to maneuver autonomous vehicles during recovery or complex navigation scenarios.
  • Provide professional, empathetic assistance to passengers during recovery events, ensuring safe entry/exit and offering light concierge support at high‑traffic pickup/drop‑off sites.
  • Use terminal commands and internal interfaces to diagnose blockers, power‑cycle hardware, or flash firmware to return vehicles to operational status.
 
What’s Needed?
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols and required PPE.
  • Ability to pass background, MVR, and drug screening; must comply with the Substance Abuse Policy.
  • 2–4 years in fast‑paced environments blending logistics and customer service (hospitality, aviation ground ops, emergency response, fleet operations).
  • Comfort using terminal commands, laptops, mobile devices, and remote operation interfaces to manage vehicle states and report anomalies.
  • Valid driver’s license with a strong driving record; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, and squatting in workshop and public road environments.
