Our client, a global leader in advanced materials and semiconductor manufacturing solutions, is seeking a Lab Automation & AI Specialist to join their team. As a Lab Automation & AI Specialist, you will be part of the Analytical Services & QA Laboratory supporting lab operations, quality teams, and digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a continuous improvement mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

 

Job Title: Lab Automation & AI Specialist

Location: Billerica, MA (Onsite)

Pay Range: $45-$48/hour

 

What’s the Job?

  • Assess analytical laboratory workflows and identify high-impact opportunities for automation, AI implementation, and process improvement.
  • Design and implement automation solutions that reduce manual data handling, streamline reporting, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and deploy AI-assisted tools for QC review, data validation, trend analysis, outlier detection, and result summarization.
  • Collaborate with laboratory, QA, IT, and LIMS teams to ensure automation solutions are practical, scalable, and compliant with quality standards.
  • Create SOPs, validation documentation, user guides, and training materials while supporting adoption of new technologies across laboratory teams.

 

What’s Needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical, QA, metrology, or manufacturing laboratory environments.
  • Experience with laboratory automation, process improvement, digital transformation initiatives, or AI-enabled workflow solutions.
  • Familiarity with LIMS/LabWare, analytical instrumentation (such as ICP-MS), quality systems, and regulated laboratory environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across laboratory, QA, and technical teams while driving organizational change.
