Our client, a global leader in the energy and data center infrastructure industry, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Piping to join their team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer Piping, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting the design, construction, and commissioning of large-scale data center projects.
Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Piping
Location: Houston, Texas
Pay Range:$90,000 - $135,000 plus bonus, stock, benefits, etc.
What's the Job?
- Support the mechanical and piping scope across all project phases including design, construction, testing, installation, and commissioning.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, designs, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Coordinate with vendors, procurement teams, and project stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of mechanical components and systems.
- Perform piping stress analysis, system layout, and component selection to optimize performance and safety.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, site installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2 to 10 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably within data center infrastructure or similar regulated environments.
- Proficiency in CAD and BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and piping stress analysis tools like CAESAR II.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards including ASME, ASTM, NFPA, OSHA, and others relevant to mechanical and piping systems.
- Must have strong piping design - subsea background is a good substitute for experience if no data center piping experience.
