Job Title: Project Engineer - Control Systems
Location: Ideally Southeast (Remote work available - Alabama, Georgia, North and Central Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, or South Carolina)
Travel: 20-25%
Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000
*Overtime paid at time and a half

Our client, an industry-leading industrial systems integration company, is seeking a Project Engineer - Control Systems to join their team. As a Project Engineer - Control Systems, you will be part of the engineering department supporting manufacturing and control systems projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

  • Design electrical control systems, including hardware and instrumentation selection, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Create and interpret P&ID diagrams, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams for new equipment and systems.
  • Oversee fabrication processes and support onsite startup activities to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Support troubleshooting of electrical control systems both in-house and at customer facilities, providing technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to plan, execute, and document control system projects effectively.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Controls Systems Engineering Technology.
  • 3-5 years of experience applying PLCs, PCs, and control instrumentation in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in office software and technical documentation, including specifications and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, HMI, variable frequency drives, and manufacturing information systems.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed to support project implementation and troubleshooting.
