Software Engineer

Our client, a leader in autonomous vehicle technology, is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team. As a Software Engineer, you will be part of the Release Management team supporting software development and testing for safety-critical systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $38/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

• Build and maintain tooling and develop automated scripts for efficient execution of integration and acceptance testing phases.
• Investigate issues arising from recent code changes prior to daily sign-offs.
• Monitor and analyze test results from offline and on-vehicle logs, developing automated reporting tools.
• Develop tooling to support vehicle log analysis and test data to trace failures for root cause analysis, documentation, and communication.
• Triage and identify software regressions and suggest possible improvements for development teams.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years in complex testing environments (e.g., Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Aerospace).
• Experience with developing automated scripts for software functional testing.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and experience in developing, executing, and automating test scripts.
• Expertise in Python programming, especially for system-level tests and test framework development.
• Strong understanding of system design and component interaction to guide test methodologies for functional and safety sign-off.
