Supplier Quality Engineer II

Our client, a global automotive manufacturing leader, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be part of the Quality Department supporting Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, and Cross-Functional Engineering Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Detroit, MI (Travel 30-50% Domestic & International)
Pay Range: $35-$45/hour (depending on experience)

What's the Job?

• Manage supplier performance and drive timely corrective actions to ensure quality and uninterrupted production supply.
• Lead supplier quality improvement initiatives and root cause investigations using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone analysis.
• Conduct supplier audits to verify product conformity, process compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Monitor supplier quality KPIs including DPPM, Quality Complaints, and On-Time Shipment performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical quality issues and implement containment actions.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 1-3 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or a related engineering role.
• Knowledge of GD&T, MSA, and quality problem-solving methodologies.
• Ability to interpret metallurgical reports and communicate complex technical issues.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30-50%.
