Application Engineer II

Our client, a leading Energy Technology company, is seeking an HPC Systems & Scheduler Administrator to join their team. As an HPC Systems & Scheduler Administrator, you will be part of the Advanced Digital Technology organization supporting enterprise HPC users and engineering simulation teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to system optimization, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: HPC Systems & Scheduler Administrator
Location: Greenville, SC
Pay Range: $57.58/hour

What's the Job?

• Administer and maintain Linux-based HPC infrastructure, including compute, login, and head nodes.
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Slurm workload scheduling, configuration, and optimization.
• Manage HPC application environments, including compiler toolchains, MPI libraries, and environment modules.
• Support and maintain Linux Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance, throughput, and scheduler efficiency.

What's Needed?

• Strong Linux Systems Administration experience in High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
• Hands-on experience administering and optimizing Slurm workload schedulers.
• Experience with HPC technologies, including MPI libraries, Lmod, and cluster management.
• Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Ganglia, or CloudWatch.
• Experience with Linux security, user access management, and performance tuning.
