Cartography Supervisor

Our client, a leader in autonomous vehicle mapping and geospatial data operations, is seeking a Cartography Supervisor to join their team. As a Cartography Supervisor, you will be part of the Cartography organization supporting high-definition road network production and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience supervising small teams or operational workflows, excellent organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects, and a commitment to data accuracy and quality standards that keep maps reliable and up to date.

Location:Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $50-$55/hour

What's the Job?

• Supervise the day-to-day work of a team of labeling technicians and contractors producing semantic road network data.
• Prepare and coordinate work by completing required administrative setup, including sprint planning & triage, task distribution and tracking, and validating and peer reviewing technician work.
• Oversee CARTA workflows and release tasks, including stitching individual technician contributions, resolving outstanding validators and map errors, and integrating expansion work into maintenance sprints based on content delivery timelines.
• Ensure mapping work meets content requirements and quality standards while identifying process gaps and proposing workflow improvements to increase productivity and data quality.
• Act as an operational bridge between Cartography leadership and labeling technicians by organizing project workflows, ensuring administrative readiness, providing a strong feedback loop to engineering managers, and escalating risks or blockers early.

What's Needed?

• Demonstrated leadership experience supervising small teams or supervising operational workflows.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and keep workstreams moving.
• Experience with task management systems such as JIRA.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy, including validating and peer reviewing work.
• Excellent communication skills to provide clear direction and feedback, coach performance gaps, and solve problems in a fast-paced operational environment.
