Our client, a global manufacturer, is seeking a dedicated Continuous Improvement Engineer to join their dynamic team. The CI Project Lead / Engineer is the primary driver of operational excellence, responsible for reducing waste, improving flow, strengthening standard work, and building long‑term CI capability across the organization
Job Title: Continuous Improvement Engineer
Location: Pinellas County
What's the Job?
- Lean Leadership — Champion Lean culture; coach teams in 5S, standard work, VSM, waste elimination, and structured problem‑solving.
- Kaizen Facilitation — Plan, lead, and teach Kaizen workshops; guide cross‑functional teams through rapid‑cycle improvement
- Supporting Kaizen — Provide full support for Kaizen events including: • Event preparation (data gathering, current‑state mapping, materials) • Facilitation support (guiding breakout groups, capturing ideas, maintaining pace) • Process analysis (time studies, waste walks, spaghetti diagrams, bottleneck identification) • Lean tool application (5S, root‑cause analysis, PDCA, standard work updates) • Documentation (before/after metrics, action items, SOP updates) • Sustainment (follow‑ups, audits, verification of results)
- Project Execution — Lead CI projects using DMAIC, A3, and data‑driven decision‑making; track timelines, actions, and results.
- Process Optimization — Analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, redesign processes, and implement sustainable improvements.
What's Needed?
- Experience in Lean / Six Sigma, CI engineering, or manufacturing process improvement
- Demonstrated ability to lead Kaizen events and teach Lean tools
- Strong analytical skills: root‑cause analysis, A3, DMAIC, workflow mapping
- Ability to influence across departments and lead teams without direct authority
- Industrial, manufacturing, or operations engineering background preferred
