Our client, a leading global real estate and facilities management company, is seeking a Data Center Operating Engineer to join their team. As a Data Center Operating Engineer, you will be part of the Critical Facilities Operations team supporting Data Center Infrastructure and Building Operations. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a reliability-focused mindset which will align successfully in the organization. 

Job Title: Data Center Operating Engineer

Location: Raleigh, NC

Pay Range: $36 - $40/hr (Based on Shift)
 

What’s the Job?

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain mission-critical facility systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, HVAC, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, and power distribution equipment.
  • Perform inspections, record equipment readings, analyze system performance, and take corrective action to ensure continuous facility uptime.
  • Manage maintenance activities and work orders through CMMS while coordinating with vendors and contractors.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations in a 24/7/365 data center environment.
  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures, environmental requirements, and critical operations standards.

What’s Needed?

  • 2+ years of experience in a data center, critical facility, mission-critical, or industrial operations environment.
  • Hands-on experience with critical infrastructure systems such as UPS, generators, switchgear, power distribution, HVAC, and chilled water systems.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency response situations.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
