Our client, a leading public works organization, is seeking a Deputy Director Public Works - Engineering & Administration to join their team. As a Deputy Director Public Works - Engineering & Administration, you will be part of the Public Works Department supporting the management and oversight of critical infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully within the organization.

Location: Leesburg, Virginia
Pay Range:$102,000 - $226,000
What's the Job?
- Lead advanced professional engineering work in the design, review, and supervision of public works projects.
- Oversee the Transportation Division and pavement management programs, including bridge inspections and maintenance.
- Support the Director of Public Works in managing personnel, departmental operations, and the Town’s bonding programs related to land development projects.
- Coordinate project reviews, inspections, and ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and Town standards.
- Represent the department at planning meetings, council sessions, and community engagements, providing technical expertise and reports.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor of Science Degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of civil engineering experience, including at least three (3) years in management or supervisory roles.
- Current registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Virginia or the ability to obtain it within one year.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, project management, and construction standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
