Our client, Engineering & Technical Services is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join their team. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be part of the E&M team supporting facility electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a highly professional attitude, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work safely and independently in a construction environment, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Location: Chester, VA
Pay Range: $43-$45/hr.
Shift: 2pm - 12AM
Training: M-F 8am - 5pm
What's the Job?
- Oversee electrical and lighting systems’ general operation, repair, and maintenance, including new equipment installations.
- Inspect, check, repair, and replace functional components of electrical and lighting systems (including wiring, controls, switches, motors, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, and related equipment).
- Assure equipment is maintained and operating in a safe manner, supporting safe work practices on an active work site under construction.
- Review historical maintenance records to help create proactive inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Provide efficient, reliable service to customers while working within standardized procedures and practices.
What's Needed?
- Journeyman’s license required.
- Master Electrician license required as dictated by local electrical codes.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Basic computer skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), plus strong organizational skills.

- Structured onboarding: first 6–8 weeks training period (M–F 8am–5pm), followed by rotating shifts.
- Rotating shift schedule every 4 weeks, with days off shifting accordingly (evening coverage: 2pm–12AM during rotation).
- Assignment duration of 5 months, with potential extension.
- Potential to convert to FTE.
