Mechanical Engineer I

Our client, a leading Energy and Power Generation Engineering company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to join their team. As a Mechanical Engineer I, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting the Customer Drawing Engineering and Turbine-Generator Interface Team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration abilities which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer I
Location: Schenectady, NY
Pay Range: $34/hour

What's the Job?

• Calculate and document engineering forces and moments for turbine-generator customer interfaces.
• Perform Mass and Center of Gravity (CoG) calculations for engineering projects.
• Support customer interface engineering related to piping, foundations, and structural systems.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation and standard work procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
• 0-3+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, forces and moments, and Free Body Diagrams (FBD).
• Understanding of structural foundations and building codes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
