Our client, a leading organization in the industrial and facilities management sector, is seeking a dedicated Operating Engineer to join their team. As an Operating Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Facilities Maintenance Department supporting operational excellence and safety. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Operating Engineer

Location: Tampa, FL

Pay Range: $32 to $35 per hour

What's the Job?

  • Perform corrective maintenance on a fleet of forklifts, including wheel and hydraulic line replacements, electrical troubleshooting, and sensor system maintenance.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on all forklifts and facility equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, order additional parts as needed, and document repairs through daily reports.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for repairs beyond in-house capabilities and monitor the quality and cost of outsourced work.
  • Support facility systems and assist with additional maintenance tasks as required, ensuring a safe and clean work environment.

What's Needed?

  • 2-4 years of experience maintaining and repairing forklifts or similar equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair various forklift failures, including those caused by wear and impact.
  • Proficiency with computer applications such as Word and Excel.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Preferred: Certified Forklift Technician, OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
